Welcome to our little piece of paradise. Amara Selous is a luxury tented lodge in the heart of the Selous wilderness in Southern Tanzania. We overlook the rapids of the Great Ruaha River and its resident sometimes noisy hippo! We provide guests with lavish comfort in the middle of the African bush and offer classic slow safari’s in the wonderful Selous. We opened in June 2010 and there is nothing quite like Amara in the Selous, a new bench mark has been set offering something very unique and special. Amara brings a whole new meaning to luxury accommodation in the Selous and were shortlisted as one of the best safari lodges in Tanzania in the 2012 World Travel Awards.

Amara Selous is intimate and perfect for a honeymoon, romantic break or family safari. We have a stunning swimming pool and 12 luxurious tented suites that all come with their own plunge pools, relaxation in the bush doesn’t come any better than this! The suites are air conditioned and offer over 90m of inside space, the bedrooms are tented and come with custom made super king beds and classic comfortable furniture. Large stone opulent bathrooms give you all the comforts you could need and also come with wonderful inside and outside showers where you can shower under the elements in privacy! All our dining is private, we offer spa treatments and have a host of activities to keep you entertained to show you the best of the Selous!
