Location
On the Great Ruaha River in the Selous Game Reserve. Nearest airstrip is Simbazi.
Climate
The SGR is situated between 8 degrees and 10 degrees south of the equator and enjoys sunny warm days and evenings. Light clothes recommended. During the rainy season, heavy rains make up part of the day (Nov/Dec and April/May).
Accommodation
The camp is made up of 12 deluxe air conditioned spacious tented rooms, stone finish bathrooms and lounge, outside shower, large wooden decks with private plunge pools all offering privacy, space and spectacular views of the river.
Children
Whilst children are very welcome, due to the nature of the experience and the location, children must be a minimum 6 yrs.
How to get there
There are daily flights to Selous and a full schedule is available with price on request.
Electricity
The camp is powered entirely by solar, in-line with it eco-friendly status and in the evenings generator is operational.
Water
Fresh water is plentiful and in line with its ecofriendliness, the camp operates in solar water heaters and has a waste water treatment plant.
Private events
The property offers conference facilities and is an ideal gateway for small exclusive or incentive groups.
Game drives
Provided in luxury tailor designed 4x4 vehicles with open sides offering fantastic game viewing opportunities. The vehicles seat 6 guests and are on a shared basis with exclusive use available at an additional cost subject to availability.
Walking
Provided and operated by our highly trained and professional guides who offer guests educational and great experience.
River excursions
Are provided in luxurious river boats.
Facilities
Aside from game drives, walking safaris and river excursions, the camp offers a spa facility, bush breakfasts and dinners, along with sundowner boat rides.
